Fasting blood samples were repeatedly analyzed for crucial biomarkers, including low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), triglycerides, glucose, insulin, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), providing a detailed picture of metabolic health and inflammation. Objective measures of cardiovascular health, such as blood pressure and heart rate, were also recorded. Socio-economic status, family history of cardiovascular disease, accelerometer-measured sedentary behavior and physical activity levels, and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans to assess body composition (fat mass and lean mass) were all meticulously accounted for in the statistical analyses, ensuring the robustness of the findings.
